We're Back!

We are back from a wonderful and restful vacation with family! And now we are starting the process of getting ready for school. We have summer outings to complete and shopping to do and then there is registration for school. I have never heard of having to register every year when you attended the school last year, but that is what we have to do here. I am even watching kids for a friend once a week and tutoring another friend's child once or twice a week. Whew! I haven't made anything (hardly even supper...) lately, nor gone anywhere that I took pics, so there aren't any pics to post. Hopefully I will be able to steal some time somewhere and be able to do something creative soon!

30 Minute Thursday layout for ScrapHappy challenge

This is my first layout for Lain's 30 Minute Thursday at ScrapHappy. I have been reading her blog since I took a class from her at Big Picture Scrapbooking, but haven't done the challenges yet!

Vacation

I'm so excited to be on a vacation next week. Not only do I get away from my normal everyday stresses, but I get to be with my family! Hurray! Did you know you could do a hold mail online? I just found that out and did it... no running to the post office to get a card- how great is that? To my family... see ya real soon! I made some luggage tags from several layers of cardstock because my old ones were falling apart. I didn't laminate them or anything, so we'll see how they hold up. It's kind of an experiment!

4th of July

Just a couple of pics of the 4th celebration with friends in our backyard. Sometimes I still find it hard to believe that I live where there are palm trees! It looked just beautiful with the moon rising and the sun setting last night.

We went to the beach in the morning (and we did get a little too much sun) and then we came home and got ready for a cookout with a group of friends and fireworks afterward. All in perfect liberty that was bought and paid for by so many- a big thanks to all those who served and fought and gave for our country to be what it is today! We are thankful that we have so much freedom.

Just some scrappy stuff... my cover for this is me and a yellow page that celebrates what I love about sunny cheerful yellow! It seems M has been watching me make this album and has decided to do one too :) I will post some of hers soon.

Beach Trip

We went to the beach this morning. M and C had a blast with their boogie boards. I was in the water, so no photos of that, but here are a couple of them hanging out at the edge of the water. The sea was nice and calm and there weren't a lot of people- just a perfect time to be there:)

Skirt is finished

Well, I finished the skirt. It turned out ok. It was easy enough, and it looks good. It is a very forgiving pattern. M loves it because it twirls :) I also made one for her American Girl doll. I don't know if I will make another or not. Maybe if I find some really cute fabrics, I'll be motivated to do another one.

This is me journal

This is my first post for the "this is me" journal from here. I loved the idea of scrapping fridge contents. It really gives a day in the life, my real life, which is also a little bit frightening. And I just noticed that my outside of the fridge photo is crooked, I will fix that on the original... aargh! There is always something that seems off, no matter how hard I try. It's like the Amish thing where they purposely add in a flaw because only God can be perfect... that's it... yeah... it's purposeful! LOL I am excited to see where the "me" prompts take me!
