Well, I have started on the skirt(cut some of the squares). I am using scraps to make a mini trial version for DD's American Girl doll. Here is a photo of the (WalMart) fabrics I am using. If it goes well and DD likes it, I may try it with some nicer fabrics. :) I will be happily sewing over the next few days!

We have been out and about almost all day. Whew! We had basketball for DS and DD this morning and went to the church to get our car washed this afternoon. Tomorrow we have worship in the park! It should be a lot of fun. Here are a couple of basketball photos from this morning. I took them with the video camera. The quality is not as good as my camera. I think they will post ok, but I cropped them and I noticed they didn't come out as nicely as they do with my camera. I am starting a skirt for DD that is a patchwork and I am currently procrastinating about it. I figure if I blog this random meandering thought, then maybe I will be more motivated to go ahead and do the cutting and piecing. I am using a pattern I found here. Check it out and see what you think. Instead of doing the tiers in each fabric, I am doing fabric squares for each tier. I have that inability to follow a pattern thing going on! I hope it turns out cute.

Here is a layout that I finished for a faithsisters challenge. We have always had rye bread at family get togethers like Thanksgiving and Christmas. I learned to make it when I was a teenager. It is yummy, but I think I like it more for the memories.
