OPAM project for July

Wow, we are back and hit the ground running! We are definitely going to homeschool this year, so i am busy getting ready :) I am looking forward to it, but a little nervous too!

I finished a project for OPAM, just not the one I thought I would... here is a photo of a "brown bag" quilt that was put together by my quilt group when I lived near Denver ( ummm... 11 years ago...) but now it is DONE! It turned out seriously pretty and is all hand quilted- hence the time it took for me to complete it! I put in the fall colored star block and I love that someone added the turquoise to the mix :) I am so pleased that it is finished...

The quilt is lovely, I'm impressed with finishing it! I have lots of 1/2 or almost finished projects that never seem to get completed.

I love the quilt! It looks awesome! I couldn't do that even if I had 11 years!

A finished project even after 11yrs is always a reason to celebrate. Tap yourself on the back and say "Go me!"

It's beautiful! I never did any quilting but maybe someday. I could at least stuff in the cotton. Not much of a sewer here. Love the fall colors!

Following you on twitter.

Enjoy your SITS day!

Wow. Quilters impress me. The work just seems so intricate, so well planned. Quilting is truly an impressive skill, in my book. I really want to try quilting, now, with my first child's baby clothes, but I haven't attempted it yet. Thanks for inspiring me this morning and happy SITS day to you again!

What a beautiful quilt! I have made several, but have yet to follow any sort of pattern. Kiddo and I have designed one together, and I will be following that design, so that will be a new one for me!

Will you be using the quilt, or will it be a wall hanging or something?

You are quite crafty! I can appreciate the work it takes to make a nice quilt. I tried quilting a Christmas tree skirt once. I still use it, but probably won't do that again.

Sherri said...

Wow! That is really good. I wish I was more crafty. I have my great grandmothers quilt that she made and I love it.

Brandi said...

What an incredible quilt! I wish I had talent like this, but alas, I don't seem to. I can sing and bake and write but I wish I could make things like quilts and jewelry and other fun crafty items.

stopping by from sits...i made my first quilt for my friend's first child. It was hard work, but the best way I could express how much I cherish my friend...and how excited I was for her and her husband.
I need to grab a cuppa and sit back a while to browse through the rest of your blog.
Congrats on your SITS day!
